James Vastine
Owner & Lead Technician
Master Musical Instrument Repair Technician With 27 years of experience in musical instrument restoration, manufacturing, and repair, James Vastine is a Master Musical Instrument Repair Technician dedicated to excellence. Trained under industry leaders Rex Bullock, Duane Heuson, Paul Weaver, and Bob Staley, James mastered instrument restoration, metal plating, machining, engraving, and shop management. He also holds an M.A. in Business, a B.A.S. in Communications, and certifications in AutoCAD, Revit/Navisworks, Grasshopper, and 3D Scanning/Printing. In 2019, he founded 5 Line Technology, a design, restoration, and manufacturing firm collaborating with major music brands. As a NAPBIRT member, he shares his expertise through industry talks at universities, MEA conferences, and professional meetings. Commitment to Training In 2021, James launched the Panther City Musical Instrument Repair Training Program, a hands-on apprenticeship where students train in a fully operational repair shop. Serving schools, universities, professional musicians, and community bands, the program produces top-tier technicians committed to quality craftsmanship.

Gannon Phillips
Woodwind Specialist
Gannon Phillips, a lifelong musician, has worked professionally in the music industry as a performer, educator, composer, clinician, technician, product expert, and leader. Gannon holds a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Howard Payne University, and a master’s degree in Trombone Performance from Hardin Simmons University. With the Temple Jazz Orchestra based out of Temple Texas, Gannon has performed internationally in venues such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, International IAJE convention in NYC, and at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. Gannon has been seen on stage with names including Bill Watrous, Conrad Herwig, Brian Lynch, Wayne Bergeron, Ed Shaughnessy, Eddie Daniels, Eric Marienthal, Randy Brecker, as well as leading members of Broadway and American Idol.Throughout his career, Gannon has continually been involved in music education by teaching at public schools across Texas, maintaining a private lesson studio, and serving as Professor of Low Brass at Howard Payne University. Gannon spent 5 years at sea as a Musical Director for Royal Caribbean Cruise lines, which involves leading the onboard ship orchestra as well as managing an international team of all of the live musicians on a cruise ship. Gannon has a deep-seated love for music, and is excited to share that passion and excitement with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Phill DeLillo
Instructor
Phillip DeLillo has been involved in the music industry for almost his entire life, with a focus on education both for himself and his students. For the past 6 years he has honed his craft in music instrument repair at The Bandwagon Music Store & Repair, focusing on brass instrument repair and maintenance. He has been teaching music for over 20 years now, between classrooms and private lessons. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas where he performed with the UNT Green Brigade Marching band, as well as the UNT Concert Band and with the SUNY Potsdam Wind Ensemble. He currently performs with the Greater Fort Worth Community Band to further develop his own personal skill on the French Horn as a musician.
